Earlier this summer we decided it was time to move Max to a Big Boy Bed (which, by the way, he didn't really want to do, but more on that in his post!). Mason's bed was a twin size that Jacob made for him when he moved beds. Thinking that the twin would really be better for Max and the double in the guest room would really be better for Mason, I set about trying to convince Mase that he needed a new bed. When I explained that Maxy needed a bed, my sweet, sweet Mason immediately said, "He can have mine." The switch was made, and we ended up redecorating both bedrooms!
Given that I was trying to redecorate two rooms, including repainting one of them, by myself, I decided to call in reinforcements. Mom and Dad came and spend the better part of a week helping me. It was wonderful--there's no way I could have done it without them and Pa had some pretty darn good ideas along the way!
Mason decided on a camping theme and I was the crazy one to bring up the idea of making a tent over his bed. I had this plan to hang a pvc frame from the ceiling then sew a tent to go over it, yea, I know, a little ambitious. Pa then had the wonderful idea of using army netting and hanging it. This is a combination of what we came up with.
Pretty cool bed for a four year old, if I do say so myself. Mason loves it! Half the time I want to sleep in there. It's so cozy.

His other wall. That name has been hanging in his room through three changes. I just keep repainting, although I think this may be it's last hurrah. Even though it's a camping room, note the Jayhawk bean bag from Papa and Gigi and the print in the corner. No self respecting future Jayhawk has a room without something KU in it!
Seems Max prefers Mason's room to his. Ever since we made the change, Max begs to sleep in there. Every night, we put him back in his bed, because Max isn't that great to sleep with and Mason says, "Mom, he's disturving me!" One morning I went up to get them and this is what I was greeted with. Max evidently went to Mason's room in the middle of the night. Explains why he slept so late...Cute boys!
